Call for WSSDA Officer Candidates
Your WSSDA Nominating Committee is seeking school directors as candidates for WSSDA officer positions for 2014. Positions up for election include:
- President-elect: This position is open to a member from either side of the state. He or she becomes WSSDA President for 2015.
- Vice president: This position alternates between directors from the east and west sides of the Cascades. This year it is open to a member from the west side.
These are two important opportunities to exercise your leadership beyond the local level. I encourage you to consider running for one of them. You can also nominate a fellow director who you believe would do an excellent job of representing school board directors throughout Washington.
The committee will accept nominations until May 21. Candidate applications will be accepted until June 9. Use the forms below to submit your nomination or application. For more information on board officer responsibilities or the electronic voting process, see the links at right. Officer elections will take place online August 26-September 27.

WSSDA Board and Committee Member Elections
Consider bringing your energy and enthusiasm to WSSDA leadership. A number of WSSDA board and committee member positions are up for election each year. Nominations and voting for these positions occur during the director area caucus meetings at the WSSDA Annual Conference. Watch for the list of open positions here and in WSSDA Direct this September.
You also have the opportunity to volunteer for task forces and committees with appointed positions by submitting an Involvement/Interest Form.
