- Red Lion Hotel
January 26-27, 2014
Red Lion Hotel and the Washington State Capitol
Held each year in Olympia, the Legislative Conference/Day on the Hill helps school board directors, superintendents and other district leaders hone their advocacy skills as they meet one-on-one with legislators to support proposals passed by the Legislative Assembly. It is also a great opportunity to hear the latest updates on policy and budget issues, and to network with your colleagues.
This conference is held jointly with the Washington Association of School Administrators and the Washington Association of Business Officials.
Online registration is now closed. However, you are still welcome to register on-site at the event.
The business meeting begins Sunday, January 26 at 1 p.m. WSSDA Director Area caucuses start at 5 p.m. and are followed by a hosted reception at 6 p.m. These activities take place at the Olympia Red Lion. Governor Jay Inslee, Superintendent Randy Dorn, and other speakers have been invited to join us for the business meeting (1 p.m.-5 p.m.). A final agenda will be posted in early January.
On Monday, January 27, the action shifts to the Hill, with school leaders talking with their local legislators. New this year is the ability to network with colleagues in the Columbia Room on the first floor of the Legislative Building, from 8 a.m.-noon. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. This will be a good spot to catch your breath and share what you’ve heard.
