Level I Policy Manual Audit
This service is recommended as a first step for districts that want to understand the full scope of what a full policy manual review process would entail. The WSSDA Policy Consultant will check the district policy manual policy-by-policy and prepare an electronic report for the client school district identifying missing policies, obsolete policies, and policies in need of revision, along with their last revision dates in the district. Policies will be identified according to their classification (Essential, Priority, Discretionary). The Consultant will also provide suggestions for future policy work. At that point, the district can decide whether to update the manual on their own or to enlist the WSSDA Consultant’s services for a Level II Full Service Policy Manual Revision. If the district enters into an agreement for Level II services within thirty (30) days of receiving their Level I Audit Report, the fee for the audit will be subtracted from the price of the Level II service. Pricing for this service is tailored to the individual district. Please contact Policy and Legal Services for a cost estimate.
Level II Full Service Manual Revision
This service is recommended for districts with policy manuals that have not been updated in several years, are incomplete or are inconsistent with current practices. The WSSDA Policy Consultant performs a policy-by-policy language analysis of the district policies with the WSSDA Model Policies. The analysis identifies any inconsistencies, missing and obsolete policies, as well as policies in need of updated language, legal references and management resources. The WSSDA Consultant will make one site visit to the district to meet with district administrators and/or board members to discuss the project. The Consultant will also prepare a comprehensive electronic copy of the district’s policy manual using Track Changes so that suggested changes are visible. At the end of the project, the district will receive an electronic copy of the fully revised district policy manual. Pricing for this service is tailored to the individual district. Please contact Policy and Legal Services for a cost estimate.
Policy & Legal News Update Service
This service is recommended for districts who temporarily or permanently find themselves without policy staff to maintain their district policy manuals. The WSSDA Policy Consultant will request electronic copies of appropriate district policies each time Policy & Legal News is issued (quarterly). The district will receive these policies back with suggested updates in Track Changes. This service does not include updating the entire district policy manual and does not provide language customized to individual district needs as does the Level II service. Rather, it assures districts with well-maintained policy manuals that they will remain current with WSSDA-recommended updates. Pricing for this service is tailored to the individual district. Please contact Policy and Legal Services for a cost estimate.
