WSSDA Liaison Representatives |
| Dozens of school board members represent their Association at
meetings ranging from the Public School Art Advisory Committee or the State Board of Education's Facility
Committee to representatives on each of the college and university teacher and administrator certification
programs. Some of these "Liaison Representatives" are requested by programs at the Office of the
Superintendent of Public Instruction, State Board of Education, Department of Natural Resources,
Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, State Board for Community College Education and the
Department of Social and Health Services. As other groups and
organizations examine their roles relative to public education, they too make requests of the Association
for a liaison. Appointment to these positions is made by the Association president. To be considered as a
liaison representative, make sure you indicate an interest in a particular area on the Committee Interest
Form provided at annual conference. You may also contact the WSSDA office in Olympia and ask that your
interest in serving in this capacity be noted. Then, when requests are made of the Association, the
president has a list of people from whom to choose.
