| WSSDA offers Saturday workshops on
board self-assessment and superintendent evaluation

WSSDA's popular
one-day workshop "Board Self-assessment and Superintendent
Evaluation" returns in early 2008 with sessions in eastern and
western Washington.
The first workshop will be
held Saturday, Jan. 12 in Spokane. The second workshop will take
place Saturday, Feb. 9 in Olympia (one day before the WASA/WSSDA
Legislative Conference).
This workshop, designed
as a work session for the school board-superintendent team, will
cover key elements of the evaluation process. Topics include:

Developing board
self-assessment instruments

Reviewing techniques
for a successful evaluation

Establishing goals
for the superintendent evaluation
-
Developing the
superintendent evaluation instrument
-
Determining
materials for mid-year and final evaluations
-
How to research best
practices
Each participant will
receive the updated WSSDA manual, The Evaluation Process: Board
Self-Assessment and Superintendent Evaluation.
