Legislative, Resolutions Committees call for proposals
School board members, now is the time to be thinking about proposals you’d like to bring forward for additions or changes to WSSDA’s legislative and permanent positions. The WSSDA Legislative Committee is seeking proposals for positions on legislative issues that will be considered in the 2008 session; the Resolutions Committee is calling for proposals related to WSSDA’s Permanent Association Positions. For information on submitting legislative proposals, click here. For information on proposals for the Resolutions Committee, click here.

Entries sought for Boards of the Year, Diversity Awards
Each year, WSSDA honors a select number of school boards and school districts for exemplary leadership in promoting student achievement and equity in education. This recognition occurs through the association’s Boards of the Year and Diversity Awards programs, which are now accepting applications from districts that would like to be considered for this year’s awards. Sew, you want to make a quilt square…
WSSDA President Cindy McMullen reports that she is getting numerous inquiries about how to participate in her quilt square project. You’ll recall that Cindy challenged school board members to join her in making quilt squares to reflect public education, school board membership or WSSDA. The squares will be sewn together in quilts or banners to symbolize WSSDA’s commitment to quality education for every child in the state. For details and instructions, visit the WSSDA Web site.

Six more Regional Meetings on tap
