Leadership WSSDA
Take your leadership skills to the next level!
Veteran school directors with four years or more of school board
service are invited to apply to
participate in the Leadership WSSDA Class of 2009. Designed to
develop proactive, visionary leaders, Leadership WSSDA offers
committed school board members from across the state the opportunity
to work closely together, sharing ideas and experiences throughout a
year-long course. Participants will receive training from content
experts in an informal setting, experience issues and solutions
first-hand through visits to local schools, and share innovative
district programs with fellow board members.
Leadership WSSDA will inspire you to challenge yourself in new ways.
You will delve deeper into important issues while creating new
connections throughout the state and learning advanced skills and
educational methodologies. And, in the process of becoming a more
effective agent of change, you will learn to model the ideal of an
ethical leader.
Please notify Connie Lauderdale by October 15 of your intent to
apply for the program. The deadline for applications is December 5,
2008, and — should you accept the challenge — the first session of
the Class of 2009 takes place February 6-8, 2009. You are encouraged
to connect with Leadership WSSDA alumni at the WSSDA Annual
Conference in November (look for their light blue badge ribbons).
We look forward to receiving your application. All applicants will
be notified of their status before the end of the year.
