MODULES
The Key Work of School Boards and
Administrators course is made up of 8 modules, the Community
Engagement and Stakeholder Linkages is made up of 5 modules.
Module 1 will take the first week of each course. This allows
students to register and get familiar with online learning.
Subsequent modules should be paced at one per week.
Participants are encouraged to respond to and maintain
communication. A portion of the course grade depends on the
participation in module online discussions (see section below,
entitled Grade Breakdown for Academic Credit and CEUs, for
detail). The answers to questions posed in each module will be
posted on the discussion board. Classmates are encouraged to
comment and dialogue over answers, perspectives, and challenges
that have been proffered. The questions for board members or
administrators can be answered by placing yourself in the
other’s shoes. This promotes empathy and understanding of the
other’s role. For example, board members are encouraged to
answer questions posed to superintendents, thereby gaining
perspective of another’s role and responsibility.
If you are taking these courses for academic credit, a
final project will be due by the end of the course. If you
have questions regarding the appropriateness of topics for a
project, please contact Carol Andreasen.
