About the Annual Conference
The WSSDA Annual Conference is the premier annual event for school directors, student board representatives, and superintendents. It is the largest gathering of education policymakers in the state of Washington. Per WSSDA bylaws, the conference takes place on the east or west side of the Cascades in alternate years.
2019 Conference: Culture of Connecting
A strong thread weaving through every year’s Annual Conference evaluations is the value gained from connecting with people from around the state. These connections allow board directors and other attendees to share solutions for school governance, gain inspiration and be re-energized in their work to ensure quality education for every student. This year’s theme, “Culture of Connecting,” celebrates connections: the linking of people, the energy of ideas, and the power of the two coming together for progress by both adults and children.
The WSSDA Annual Conference offers a unique opportunity for school directors to gather over several days to learn from peers and other educational experts both formally and informally. It's also an excellent chance for boards to spend time together strengthening their own connections. We encourage you to join us this November in Bellevue.
