Spring is coming, which means that WSSDA regional meetings are back! We’re thrilled to hold these gatherings because they provide a unique opportunity for school directors to connect, collaborate, and discuss pressing issues affecting public education in Washington state and their local communities.
Each spring, WSSDA hosts 12 regional meetings conveniently located in towns and cities across Washington. These meetings bring together school board members from neighboring school districts, allowing them to participate in timely and meaningful dialogue with each other. If scheduling allows, WSSDA’s president may also attend, and the region’s representative on the WSSDA board typically acts as “emcee.”
This 2025 regional meetings will focus on the theme “Leading with Purpose,” which comes from our new resource: Leading with Purpose: A Guide for Effective School Board Members. By attending the meetings, school directors will gain the opportunity to explore the meaning of purposeful leadership in school governance, how to apply it within their school district, and how to use it as an anchor in times of significant change.
The first meeting is on March 17 in Bellingham, and the last is on May 20 in Omak. Dinner is included.
