WSSDA Books Arrive at Oroville Elementary

Happy students receiving books from the book drive

After last fall’s WSSDA Annual Conference, WSSDA board member Whitney Smith of Eastmont School District visited Oroville Elementary School with a surprise! She brought four boxes of books (about 181 in total) donated by attendees of the WSSDA Annual Conference.

Associated Student Body officers came to the library to formally accept the books on behalf of the school and to say thank you. With plenty of smiles, the boxes were opened, and a few books were placed on tables for students and mentors to read.

As shared on their Facebook page, the district said, “This is a great addition to our reading offerings for students, and we are extremely grateful to the WSSDA board and members for their generous contribution to our school! We send out a special thanks to Whitney Smith for thinking of Oroville Elementary and driving up from Wenatchee to deliver the books.”

If you’ll be at the next WSSDA Annual Conference (Nov. 20-22), you can contribute a book to the next book drive by picking one up at the conference bookstore. All donations receive a discount.
