Starting September 30, everyone who logs in to the WSSDA website will need a WA.gov account. This is due to new requirements from the state’s overseer of IT services, Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech). WaTech is gradually migrating all state services to the new login system as they phase out Secure Access Washington (SAW).
School directors will need a WA.gov account the next time they submit information to the Public Disclosure Commission because the PD adopted the new system last May.

Step by Step Instructions
- To create your account, click the button below.
- Enter the email you would like to use for your WA.gov account. Note: this email can be the same as the email for your SecureAccess Washington (SAW) account, but it is not required.
- Verify your email by entering the code that was emailed to the email address you signed up with.
- Enter your legal name in the name fields. Note: these characters cannot be used in names: %(){}<>+=”
- Create a password that meets the requirements shown on the password creation page.
- Once your account has been created, you can use it to log in to WSSDA’s website and other services provided by Washington state.

New Features After Logging In
After you log in to the WSSDA website, you’ll arrive at a page that displays everything your district has access to, for example:
- A link to WSSDA’s new training website (starting in January, see below)
- Model Policy
- Policy & Legal News
Logging in will also enable school directors and other users to:
- See a record of WSSDA communications that were emailed to them
- See specialized email lists to which they can subscribe or unsubscribe with one click
- Update their contact information
Board/executive assistants will have the added ability to manage information about their district’s school board, like adding or subtracting members or updating contact details.

WA.gov Used to Access WSSDA Trainings
In January, WSSDA will start using a new online platform to support virtual and in-person trainings. Among the many features of the platform, called a learning management system (LMS), the tool will:
- Process registrations
- Keep a record of completed trainings
- Empower board/executive assistants to manage registrations for their board
- Display available trainings
Registering and accessing trainings and materials will also require a WA.gov login. A link to the training site will be available on the screen after a user logs in to the WSSDA website by clicking “Log in” at the top-right corner of any page. (See screenshots of the LMS.)
