Now Accepting Breakout Session Proposals for the 2026 WSSDA Conference

By Alexa Voloscenko April 28, 2026

This year’s Annual Conference theme is Impact, and one way to make a lasting impact is by presenting on a topic that is important to you. Sharing your experiences and insights not only strengthens your own leadership but also provides valuable opportunities for peer learning. Whether you’re a school director, a board-superintendent team, a student leader, or a subject matter expert, we would love to hear from you!

Every year, the Annual Conference provides an opportunity to share your voice and expertise with over 1,100 attendees from across the state through our breakout sessions. The first step to becoming a presenter is submitting a presentation proposal. This is a competitive process, so here are a few tips for a strong proposal: it should include a short description of your presentation, the potential learner outcomes, and describe the processes you will use to engage the audience. The form is open until May 31. Proposals will be reviewed internally and shared in a statewide survey to all school board members to indicate their favorites. Accepted presenters will be notified on August 1.

As a reminder, we encourage presentations that emphasize student voices, feature students as presenters, and highlight students’ roles in board decision-making. Our attendees find presentations from their peers extremely valuable, so if you are a board member or superintendent, don’t hesitate to submit a proposal and share some of your knowledge with us!
