Screening begins March 2 for WSSDA Director of Strategic Advocacy

By Alexa Voloscenko February 20, 2025

WSSDA is looking for its next director of strategic advocacy! If you are passionate about legislative advocacy and public education, and skilled at guiding complex and collaborative efforts in a nonpartisan way, we would love to hear from you. First screening of applicants begins March 2.

The ideal candidate should have experience in government relations, public policy, and be proficient at building relationships with policymakers, education stakeholders, and school board members.

The role involves developing and implementing legislative strategies, tracking education policy issues, and helping school boards navigate the legislative process, while ensuring that WSSDA’s advocacy remains nonpartisan and aligned with the adopted priorities of Washington’s school boards.

You would be joining a collaborative, supportive, and mission-driven team that’s equally passionate about public education. At WSSDA, we are proud to be supporting the work of 1,477 school board members, and we do so with a small but mighty staff of 14, in a workplace that’s uplifting and highly collaborative.

If you are ready to make a meaningful contribution to Washington’s K12 system, we would love to hear from you! Visit the director of strategic advocacy job posting to learn more about the position and how to apply.
