During an election, candidates will be listed at the bottom of this page. To be eligible to serve on the State Board of Education, a candidate must be a registered voter and reside in the region they wish to represent.
The person elected to the State Board of Education may not concurrently serve as a member of the State Board of Education and as an employee of any school, college, university or other educational institution, or any educational service district superintendent’s office, or in the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, or as a member of the board of directors of either a public school district or a private school. Members of the State Board of Education are elected to a four-year term unless filling an unexpired term for a vacated position.
