WSSDA thrives thanks to the dedication of its members, many of whom contribute their time and expertise by serving on various committees. Some committees are shaped through a collaborative process: members are elected by peers within their WSSDA director area. Additionally, some committees and other groups are either open or formed with members appointed by the WSSDA president, offering diverse opportunities to get involved and contribute to the association’s work.

Get Involved

If you’re interested in getting involved by joining a committee or other group, there are three steps you could take:

  • Run for an open position. Learn more about that process on our WSSDA elections page.
  • Connect with existing committee/group members to learn more about their work. Access their contact information by clicking on the groups listed on this page.
  • Express your interest in being appointed when a vacancy arises.

WSSDA is a member-led organization, so all school directors are encouraged to take these steps. Deeply engaged board members will not only help WSSDA thrive, but also contribute to the ongoing work of supporting and improving public education.
