|
Posted November 22, 2011
Author and historian Diane Ravitch, a prominent voice in the current national debate over public education, was a featured speaker at the 2011 WSSDA Annual Conference in Bellevue. WSSDA President Mary Fertakis (Tukwila) had an opportunity to interview Ravitch just prior to her keynote address to the Conference General Session on Nov. 19. In this 35-minute program, Ravitch discusses charter schools, No Child Left Behind, technology and the "word police," and offers some thoughts on what school directors can do to advocate for public schools and public education.
