WSSDA’s bylaws define how members govern the structure of WSSDA. All other WSSDA governing documents must conform to the bylaws.

Bylaws Compared to Operating Policies

There is overlap between the subject matter of the bylaws and WSSDA’s operating policies, but the operating policies cover additional subject matter and do so in more detail.

Bylaws Compared to Positions

The bylaws address WSSDA’s internal structure and governance, while the legislative and permanent positions are WSSDA’s external advocacy platform, including its core beliefs and values as adopted by the members.

Revising the Bylaws

A proposed revision to the bylaws must be jointly submitted to the WSSDA Board by at least five school boards that have taken formal board action no later than 90 days before the General Assembly. See ARTICLE XIV of WSSDA’s bylaws for more information.
