Day on the Hill is an opportunity for school directors, student board representatives, superintendents, and school district business officials to meet with their legislators and/or their staff. It’s a perfect opportunity to address the “hot topics” surfaced at Legislative Conference.
WSSDA’s Legislative Committee members are contacting legislators to set meeting times for WASA, WSSDA, and WASBO members. Directors, superintendents, and business officers should view the meeting schedule on the RSVP form and submit an RSVP by February 22.
Starting February 24, WSSDA staff will contact those who RSVP to confirm meeting attendance.
Meetings with capacity limits will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis while balancing equitable school district representation.
The plan for Day on the Hill is as follows:
Join your WSSDA Strategic Advocacy staff and House & Senate Education Committee members on the North Steps of the Capitol (Legislative Building) to start the day.
Student Representatives should also plan to attend the events below. RSVP for the meetings with statewide elected officials is required.
If you have any questions, please contact onthehill@wssda.org.
Student board representatives are invited to sign up for meetings with Governor Inslee, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Reykdal, and other statewide officials.
WSSDA encourages attendees to bring no more than two board members per meeting with your legislators.
