Every School District gets a Vote at General Assembly

On September 25, WSSDA will hold a virtual assembly for school board members to discuss and vote on positions that will impact the state’s youth for years to come. All school boards are urged to let WSSDA know who on their board will attend the assembly to act as their district’s voting delegate.

If any board chairs have not received an email or voicemail from WSSDA, they are urged to contact WSSDA staff via assembly@wssda.org or by phone at 360-890-5781 to get a link to the voting delegate sign-up form.

About General Assembly

2020 marks the first year that WSSDA’s annual legislative assembly and delegate assembly are combined into a single, unified event. Also new this year, is holding the event fully online.

The General Assembly is an annual event where school board members define WSSDA’s values and set its course in the upcoming legislative session. School board members do this by reviewing and voting on any proposed changes or additions to WSSDA’s permanent or legislative positions submitted by their peers. Directors may also vote on any proposed changes to WSSDA’s bylaws.
