Richland School District board member Rick Jansons was elected to the position of vice president on WSSDA’s board of directors. The seat was vacated when the previous vice president, Alex Ybarra of the Quincy School District, was appointed to serve in the state Legislature. Director Jansons will attend his first WSSDA board meeting on April 12.
“We’re looking forward to Rick joining us on the WSSDA Board,” said Aurora Flores, board president. “We’re also grateful for our colleague Keith Clark’s interest in the position and his continued support of WSSDA through his valuable service on the WSSDA Nominating Committee. While only one candidate could become vice president, everyone wins when dedicated school directors like Rick and Keith step forward in support of WSSDA’s mission.”
While this concludes the special election, the ordinary election cycle for WSSDA’s board officers will kick off with a call for candidates later this spring.
