Voting is underway for a new Board Vice President for the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA). A special election was called when Alex Ybarra from Quincy, WA joined the state Legislature and resigned his position on the WSSDA Board. Following a period of nominations, school directors Keith Clark from the Central Valley School District and Rick Jansons from the Richland School District were forwarded as candidates by the WSSDA Nominating Committee.
All school board members in Washington state are eligible to vote. Voting will occur online. A message with a link to the ballot has been sent to every school board member’s email address on file with WSSDA. Three reminder emails will also be sent before the close of voting. School directors are encouraged to contact WSSDA if they don’t receive an email with voting instructions or if they wish to update their contact information.
The election closes on April 4 at 4 p.m. If there is no runoff, election results will be announced on April 5.
