Elections to officer positions on the board of directors for the Washington State School Directors’ Association just concluded. Aurora Flores from Manson School District was elected to the position of president-elect.
No candidate for the position of vice president received a majority vote, so per WSSDA bylaws, a runoff election of the top two candidates will take place October 6-20. School directors should keep an eye on their email inboxes for voting instructions.
Candidates for the runoff are Cindy Kelly (Additional Nominee) from Port Angeles School District and My-Linh Thai (Committee Nominee) from Bellevue School District. The new officers and incoming president, Marnie Maraldo from Issaquah, will be sworn into office on November 19 near the end of Annual Conference.
All WSSDA members are encouraged to exercise their right to vote in the runoff election for vice president. For information and to learn about elected positions on WSSDA committees, please visit our elections page.
